Couples Therapy

What It Is

Couples therapy gives you and your partner a safe, structured setting to communicate openly about your thoughts, feelings, and the issues between you. I will teach you both how to express yourselves in ways that your partner can genuinely hear — without triggering defensiveness or shutting down the conversation.

What to Expect

Sessions are 45 minutes and we typically meet weekly. I draw on four years of specialized Couples Therapy training from The International Psychoanalytic Institute and 17 years of treating couples. Together, we work to uncover patterns, build new communication skills, and deepen empathy and understanding between partners.

Couples therapy can help with:

Communication breakdowns Recurring conflict Loss of intimacy Trust issues Parenting disagreements Life transitions as a couple
A couple sitting together in therapy
A couple navigating a difficult conversation during separation

Conscious Uncoupling

What It Is

When you have already decided that staying together is no longer the right path, and you are not looking to work on the relationship, I can provide support and guidance through the separation process itself. Conscious uncoupling is about ending a relationship with care, clarity, and mutual respect. This is especially important when children are involved.

How It's Different From Therapy

Conscious uncoupling is not about trying to reconcile or heal the relationship, it accepts that the partnership is ending, and focuses instead on navigating that transition as gracefully as possible. The goal is to minimize harm, protect the wellbeing of any children, and help both partners move forward with dignity.

Who This Is For

These services are well suited for:

  • Couples who are contemplating a breakup, are mid-separation, or early in the divorce process
  • Parents who need help creating a co-parenting plan that works for their children
  • Couples who want to separate on respectful, collaborative terms
  • Couples who feel overwhelmed or lost in the emotional complexity of a breakup
