Individual Therapy
What Is Psychotherapy?
Therapy is a place where you can talk with a trained professional who will listen and respond in a way that is genuinely intended to benefit you. It is completely confidential and non-judgmental, therefore, it is a place where you can say whatever you think and feel.
Many people find being truly heard is a powerful part of the healing process.
How I Work
My Therapeutic Philosophy
Your History Matters
I view my role in your therapy as an observer on your journey, and often as a guide and collaborator as well. I draw from my training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, which means your history matters to me. My style is relational, so the relationship we develop together can facilitate your healing.
Moving Toward the Life You Desire
Whether you are struggling with one particular issue, or simply can't shake the feeling that there should be more to life, I can help. I am caring and interactive, and I will help you identify and explore the issues causing you distress or unhappiness. As you gain insight, you will move beyond old beliefs, patterns, and behaviors, and begin to live the life you desire, with more satisfying relationships and greater inner peace.
A Mind-Body Approach
I also hold a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certificate and have done extensive study in Nutrition, both of which influence how I practice. When appropriate, I incorporate a mind-body approach into our work.
Getting Started
What to Expect
A new client can call or text me to schedule an appointment. The first session is an Intake, during which I ask questions about your presenting concerns, as well as about your life and history, so I can understand you fully.
Sessions are 45 minutes. We typically meet weekly, though some situations call for twice-weekly sessions. Treatment can be short or long-term, depending entirely on your needs and goals, with no fixed timeline.
